The Company

As we work with clients using Inoviv’s proprietary off-the-shelf services as well as the development of bespoke multiplexed biomarker offerings, we are reshaping how research into therapeutics is conducted.

The Role

At Inoviv, we are seeking a motivated and talented Sales Engineer to support the Business Development team in the United States. This newly established role will provide support and consultation, as the technical expert, for the Business Development team, as well as direct work with prospective and existing clients to support mass-spec based proteomics experimental design, proposal development, and delivery of results for both bespoke studies as well as for Inoviv’s pre-validated assays.

You will be a crucial team member with the power to make a real, tangible impact on the company and influence how we grow the business. You will also be eligible for employee share options, meaning you will own part of the company. While this position is remote, travel to our London offices, on occasion, will be needed, as well as to conferences and customer sites.

The key responsibilities of the Sales Engineer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose pharmaceutical companies’ scientific and business needs, present appropriate solutions and create customized proposals

  • Lead discussions related to mass spectrometry-based proteomics, neurodegenerative diseases, fibrosis, and the benefits of our platform to deliver diagnostic, prognostic or treatment efficacy biomarkers for clinical trials

  • Evangelize the technology and company with the broader scientific community, including at conferences, via poster, and oral presentations with key opinion leaders and scientific groups

  • Support design of biomarker studies according to client needs

  • Work with the Inoviv R&D team to assess study proposals, compatibility with Inoviv’s methods and processes and provide feedback to the client

  • Present results to clients and support BD team in determining follow-up analytics and projects

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Sales Engineer:

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the role of biomarkers in clinical trials

  • Deep understanding of proteomics and its applicability in the drug development space

  • Ph.D., or equivalent experience, in biochemistry/ molecular biology/ or related field

  • Experience operating mass spectrometry instrumentation and supporting its applications

  • Experience in developing and designing studies for mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis, including Discovery and Targeted approaches

  • Experience in experimental design using biological models (human, mouse, cell lines, etc)

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Commitment to the company’s mission
